Every Three Oaks plan is led by Chad Eckelman, a draftsman and builder with extensive experience both designing homes and putting them up. His father Dan Eckelman, a licensed architect, works alongside two additional licensed architects and a draftsman, so every plan set carries expert-level review.
Because the team comes out of general contracting, the drawings are built to be buildable, framing, bearing, and site realities are worked out on paper, not in the field. Alexis leads the interior side, so finishes are decided with the plan, not after it.
The approach favors timeless European cottage and mountain forms, drawn to fit Black Hills sites, slopes, light, wind, and pines are treated as design inputs rather than problems to flatten.
For builds, we work with Newhouse Builds, led by Chad's brother Max. The plans, the model, and the jobsite stay in one conversation, or you can take our drawings to any builder you choose.
